FRP Rebar Production Line RFQ Checklist

An RFQ for an FRP rebar production line should state the intended product, qualification needs and complete supply boundaries. This allows suppliers to propose comparable configurations instead of pricing different interpretations of the project.

Provide the product and process brief

Include the planned sizes, material system, surface features and applicable product requirements. Describe expected production patterns and identify which assumptions need supplier review. Ask for a process-flow diagram, equipment list and explanation of any optional stages. Require capacity statements to identify the product and operating conditions on which they depend.

Request acceptance and support details

Specify the proposed trial materials, measurable acceptance criteria and required records. Clarify responsibility for tooling, utilities, inspection equipment, training and product qualification. Ask for layout and service clearances, spare parts and commercial exclusions. Keep certification of the finished rebar separate from delivery of a functioning line unless a specific, documented scope covers it.

A practical decision example

An RFQ for several rebar sizes should identify the planned combinations and changeover expectations. Suppliers can then explain tooling and control requirements. Without that information, two offers may quote the same line count while addressing different production patterns.

Key checks

  • Issue one product brief to all bidders
  • Require itemized scope and capacity assumptions
  • Agree trial and qualification responsibilities

Next step

Use the completed RFQ response as the basis for technical clarification and purchase terms. It helps ensure that the quoted investment covers the production system the buyer actually intends to operate.
